5. Activities to be carried out by the student at the collaborating company
The activities the student must perform at the collaborating company are as follows, depending on the subject being taken:
- Dual Stay in Company I:
This consists of 12 credits, corresponding to the subjects Tourist Assistance, Guide, and Information Services (6 ECTS) and Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (6 ECTS). By taking this subject in the dual modality, students will start by acquiring key competencies in tourist service, working in tourist assistance and information facilities such as tourist offices, visitor centers, and information points in tourist or cultural facilities, conducting guided tours, and working in hotel reception or other types of tourist accommodation. At this first level, students in this modality, guided by a tutor, will be able to understand the needs, challenges, and realities of providing services to tourists in these facilities, giving them a general overview of the service provided and firsthand experience of direct tourist interaction, which is necessary to lead or manage tourism companies.
- Dual Stay in Company II
This consists of 18 credits, corresponding to the subjects Event Management and Organization (6 ECTS), Management of Cultural Resources and Infrastructures (6 ECTS), and Digital Marketing in Tourism (6 ECTS). In this subject, students will focus on the tactical areas of the company, which are not the basis of direct tourist service but are part of the daily management of tourism companies. Students will perform tasks typical of event organization, such as client service, supplier negotiation, budget management, and proposal design for events. They will also learn to manage personnel in cultural facilities, create reports and service delivery records, develop staff schedules, and acquire skills in digital communication, social media management, product promotion, and use of tourism product sales platforms.
- Dual Stay in Company III
This consists of 18 credits, corresponding to the subjects Public Tender Project Management (6 ECTS), Corporate Communication (6 ECTS), and Corporate Accounting (6 ECTS). In this third period, students will focus on learning to develop and analyze public tenders in tourism, which can form the basis for generating business for tourism companies, as well as using corporate communication tools and understanding financial accounting tasks.
- Final Degree Project
The company will propose a project topic, and the academic tutor will evaluate and, if appropriate, accept the proposal. The company will ensure that the student has access to the necessary documentation and data to complete the project. Of the 150 hours allocated for the project, 75 hours can be completed within the company to gather required information. A person designated by the company will be part of the project evaluation committee.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
For three reasons:
1. It is a growing sector.
2. It is a sector that struggles to find trained personnel. And when it does, it immediately incorporates them into our industry.
3. Because the sector knows very well how closely IMEP’s curriculum is tied to the real world. Companies know that our students are fully prepared to start working from day one.
Because IMEP is part of the ESATUR business holding, and due to the nature of our work, we usually need people who can work either for us or for our clients.
The biggest variable in the budget is housing. If you choose to live in a shared apartment, it will be more economical than if you prefer a student residence.
In any case, Alicante is a much cheaper city than Madrid. Our students usually tell us that, if you manage well, a monthly budget of €1000 is enough to live comfortably.
